Jackie Wisherd says
I think a dream wedding would be one held out of doors at a special place near the beach or on a grassy area…anyplace outside in nature.
Linda Joyce says
Jackie,
There are sooo many wonderful locations. I just got back from a few days at the beach. I would have mine there. And I would have General Beauregard, our 4-legged boy as the ring bearer.
Smiles,
Linda
Moira McSpadden says
My dream wedding would be one that is small and intimate with just family and close friends.
Linda Joyce says
Moira,
Your dream wedding sounds cozy. Very personal. Just as it should be.

Linda
Cheryl Nichols says
Ideal wedding ? I think I would like to do a stary nights
theme . Real romantic with lights and deep ocean blue themes . Maybe a seaside bunglo .
Linda Joyce says
Cheryl,
I Soooo wanted to do a vow-renewal ceremony. I LOVE wedding dresses. But sadly, I’m too practical to spend that kind of money on a dress. However, I’m always up for a party. As we say in New Orleans: laissez le bon temps rouler — Let the good times roll!
Smiles,
LJ
Cindy Werner says
My dream wedding would be no wedding at all. Been there, done that. My favorite part of me wedding was at the reception when we danced to “The Search is Over” by Survivor. Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last but the search is still over because I will never get married again.
Linda Joyce says
Cindy,
You’ve got to do what your heart and your gut tell you. I don’t think marriage is for everyone. As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters.
Smiles,
Linda Joyce
Linda Rimer-Como says
My favorite memory from my wedding was having my mother standing beside me as my matron of honor.
Linda Joyce says
Linda,
Oh… based on your memory, you are going to love my work in progress “Secrets Between Friends” when it comes out. Thank you for sharing.

Suzanne Taylor says
If we could have our dream wedding now, it would be a very simple ceremony in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We absolutely adore the Bodie Island Lighthouse and that would be a wonderful location for an outdoor ceremony.
Linda Joyce says
Suzanne,
How romantic! I’ve been to many places in NC, but I haven’t made it to the Outer Banks, yet. Someday. I love lighthouses. The history and the mystic.

I got married at the courthouse. When they ask him would he take me as his wife he said I will three times and afterward my mom told me I was still a Kelley .I was 15 and we’ve been married 44 years this past august.I would love to have a country wedding outside
Linda Joyce says
Teresa,
Congrats on 44 years! That’s wonderful. Sometime, I’d love to know more about what it was like to get married at 15. I did have a friend, she was a minister’s wife, who married at 15. She was kind and compassionate. Very sweet to me.
Smiles,
Linda
Bonnie Collins says
We had both been married twice before and wanted to have a church wedding because it meant in the eyes of God. So we went to the little church with our 2 best friends and with tears in his eyes he said ‘ I’ve waited for you for forever baby girl’. We have been married 10 years and plan to renew, with vows this time, on top of the mountain where both of mothers that are in heaven can see us. He still says Good Morning Angel every morning.
Linda Joyce says
Bonnie,
Your story melted my heart. Congrats!
Hugs,

My dream wedding has always been on a beach barefoot
Linda Joyce says
Jeri,
I think that would be mine choice now, too. Our old boy, Beau, could be the ring bearer. We’d have a great fire pit in the sand and roast a bunch of seafood. Now, I’m hungry.
Smiles,
Linda
Joye Isley says
My dream wedding would be a small intimate one with family and friends. Nothing splashy-just simple and non-flashy. I think it should be about the couple and their vows and not about all of the bells and whistles and the “mine-is-fancier-than-yours” like some I have attended lately.
Linda Joyce says
Joye,
What a lovely thought. I had a small wedding. In fact, I made my wedding gown.
Smiles,
Linda
Cynthia St. Germain says
My dream wedding would be in a small Catholic Church with all my family and friends there. Having my friend who is a priest afficiate and have a wonderful outside reception.

I would have a wonderful Paris theme wedding with purple table cloths and lots of bling. I am not married yet but hope my vision comes true.
Linda Joyce says
Yaritza,
I hope your dream comes true, too. I’ve never been to Paris. Invite me?

Debra Shutters says
My dream wedding would be small family affair like I had when I got married.
The most special moment in my wedding was before when I did my Grand mom’s hair before getting ready myself because I got to talk with her and find things out that I didn’t know.
Linda Joyce says
Debra,
What a precious memory. Very heartfelt.
Hugs,
Linda
Patricia B. Hawes says
Been married for 45 years. Guess,if I could do it over,I’d like to be married in Ireland. Everything was special to me,not just one thing. How about you? What would be your dream wedding?
Linda Joyce says
Patricia,
Congrats on 45 years! That’s awesome! Advice on what makes a marriage work?
You’re going to think I’m awful. My focus wasn’t on the wedding. That was done to satisfy family–long story about that. What I loved was the two week honeymoon. We only had a reservation for our wedding night. After that, we just drove through the mountains of GA and NC and stopped when we wanted. Stayed where we wanted. Everything was very economical and we had the best time.
Smiles,
Linda
Victoria Kondovski says
My dream wedding would be on a beach with only close family and friends.
Linda Joyce says
Victoria,
The beach is clearly a very popular dream location…do you have a specific beach in mind? East Coast? Gulf? West Coast? Hawaii?
Smiles,
LJ
Valerie Rogers says
My dream wedding would be on a beach in Hawaii at sunset. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii.

Valerie,
I want to go to Hawaii, too.

Shirley Cochran says
At our wedding the priest said “Mitch and Sally have come here today!” Of course, my name isShirley. It ended up that he was helping a couple named Mitch and Sally adopt a child from Latin America and they had helped him put together the precana day agenda so it just came out that way. My uncle in law who was known as the family jokester called me Sally for years after!
Linda Joyce says
Shirley,
Well, I guess it wasn’t too funny in the moment, and I’m sure you’ve forgiven that poor priest. 🙂 However, sometimes the oddest or the funniest moments make the best memories.
Smiles,
Linda
Chanda curry says
My fav memory from this west is my now deceased father in law, walking me down the aisle to his son. My father was a monster. Gene will always be the best dad in the 8 years I had him as one!
Linda Joyce says
Chanda,
A lovely memory to have a man who indeed a “father” to you walk you down the aisle.
Smiles,
Linda Joyce
Rose Foster says
I think that I would love a bigger wedding with the dress and all, I went to the justice of peace and just wore a nice dress, I have been married for 43 years,
Melanie Rosen says
The favorite part of my wedding was not that after the part where we were asked to kneel on the alter and when it was time for us to stand up again I couldn’t because my groom was standing on my wedding dress. I tried to tell him that he was standing on my dress and it took about 3 times before he figured it out. That was probably my cue to run but I didn’t. We’ve been married for 39 years and he’s still a bit oblivious at times.
Lori Byrd says
Well I am getting married in October and we aren’t doing anything special. But if I was going to, I would love to rent an island and fly in my closest friends and family and have a big party all week!
Linda Joyce says
Lori,
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Tell me more. When? Where? Just that fact that you’re taking a very important step with someone you love is very special.
Hugs,
Linda Joyce
lori byrd says
Linda,
We have been together for 30 years and engaged for 20 of those. LOL. His health is not so great so we decided to go to a justice of the peace in Oct. He at least will have health benefits if he needs them. Nothing spectacular. My kids want to have a family and friends get together afterwards. They are planning that.
Tara Brown says
My most favorite moment of my wedding was when I also said my vows to my husband’s young son, who became my step-son. 🙂
Linda Joyce says
Tara,
You melted my heart. How very sweet.

LeAnn Abernathy says
I married almost 34 years ago…so the usual church wedding, reception in fellowship hall with cake, nuts, mints. My whole wedding probably cost less than most wedding dresses today. If I could plan a wedding it would be on a beach somewhere…maybe Hawaii!!!
Linda Joyce says
LeAnn,
My mom gave me a hard time about the budget for my wedding–which was about $3000. And then fast forward a few years, one of my cousins spent $100,000 on their wedding.
Smiles,
LJ
Kari says
My favorite moment at our wedding was when the priest said you could kiss the bride and my new husband just give me a little peck and everyone gave him a hard time. It was quite funny!
Linda Joyce says
Kari,
That’s a very sweet memory.
Smiles,
Linda
Kathy Church says
Well, considering I’m 57 and just celebrated our 33rd anniversary I don’t really think about dream weddings anymore. I would opt for a very simple vow renewal with just immediate family present. And then a huge meal with friends and family.
Linda Joyce says
Kathy,
lol, age and how many years married are a barrier. I think we need to start a tradition of vow renewals every 5 years. And once someone had reached 30 anniversaries, they deserve one every year. 🙂
Linda
Pernette Wells says
I would definitely have a beach wedding. But not in swimming attire. LOL. I would have Carolina Beach music playing and would have some Creole and Southern dishes for the reception dinner. I guess it would be a mish-mash of all of my favorite things,
Linda Joyce says
Pernette,
Your plans sound PERFECT!
Smiles,
Linda Joyce
Millie Swank says
Mine favorite memory is our father-daughter dance. Daddy leaned over and kissed me on the cheek and told me he loved me. I always knew he loved me but this was the first time he used words to say it. It would be almost 16 years later before he would say it again and at that time he because saying it all the time. I would do anything to be able to hear it one more time. I don’t plan on ever marrying again. It wasn’t good the first time around but if I did it would be small and I would go to Ireland afterward. Thank you for the chance. Good Luck everyone!
Linda Joyce says
Millie,
What a wonderful memory. Hugs. And I so want to go to Ireland. Who needs a honeymoon for that! Someday, a girls’ trip!
Smiles,
Linda
Lori R says
I don’t have a theme but there is a very pretty small stone church that I would love to get married in. I would choose an October date.
Linda Joyce says
Lori,
It sounds lovely. <3

MY DREAM WEDDING WOULD BE THE SAME ONE I HAD 62 YEARS AGO,A MARINE CORP DRESS BLUE’S MILITARY WEDDING. I THINK WALKING THROUGH THE CROSSED SWORD OF THE MARINES WAS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE.
Linda Joyce says
Jean,
How wonderful! My dad was a Marine when he married my mom. Semper Fi!
Smiles,

Jennifer Hevern says
My favorite memory of our wedding was during our vows. It was my husband’s “turn” and he choked up, not able I get the words out. I gently put my hand on his cheek and he looked at me with so much love. It felt like it was just the 2 of us. Then he took a deep breath and finished. I didn’t think anymore able it until the reception when people started coming up to me saying how beautiful that was :). He really is my soul-mate. It’s been 13 years and we are just as in love.
Linda Joyce says
Jennifer,
Ahhh, that “look of love.” What a very sweet memory you’ve shared. And “Look of Love” plays a very important role in Bayou Brides. I hope you’ll love the book when it comes out on 10/4.
Smiles,
Linda
