Please welcome author Gina Hooten Popp. I can’t wait to dive into my copy of her newest book, Lucky’s Way. Gina has a unique voice that captivates, and at the same time, exudes caring and compassion.
Thank you, Linda for letting me post about my new release Lucky’s Way. I always enjoy reading your romance novels and I consider it an honor to be asked to tell your readers about my latest story.
Let me start by giving a short description of Lucky’s Way.
The year is 1918. And World War I is raging overseas. In the continuing saga of The Winds of Change Series, seventeen year-old Lucky McLaren lies about his age to join the newly-formed U.S. Army Air Services. As a fighter pilot, the horrors of the Great War, as well as the anguish and excitement of being a soldier in a foreign land, force him to grow up quickly.
Antonia Trillery, a dedicated suffragette and an Italian beauty recently widowed, faces a fight all her own as she runs to keep from being convicted of a crime she didn’t commit. With the odds stacked against her, destiny intervenes when her path crosses with that of the handsome pilot Lucky. Suddenly both find themselves traveling a path neither is certain how to navigate as together they fight to find strength, honor, justice and true love.
Filled with history and passion, Lucky’s Way is a stirring testament to the power of belief and self-discovery—to hopes lost and found again.
And while this is a historical romance, I would like to point out that, as the sequel to The Storm After (Volume 1 in the Winds of Change Series), it also speaks to some of the same themes of overcoming adversity and being given a second chance in life. But Lucky’s Way goes one step further as the Women’s Movement is in full swing during this time period and it has an underlying theme of equality as the suffragettes seek the vote. It’s hard to believe we women haven’t always had the right to vote, isn’t it?
I hope people will enjoy reading the Lucky’s Way either in a set with The Storm After or as a stand-alone story. I know I really enjoyed writing it.
